Almost everyone in the village is involved in creating pottery, with most learning the craft from their parents and grandparents. The process to create a piece has remained unchanged. After the mold is created, the clay is shaped by the mold then fired. After its cooled, its painted by hand using a 300-year old technique called hand stamping. The item is then glazed and fired again. It can take 3-5 days to complete a piece and each must pass 8 separate quality checks.
