The entire production is performed by the artisans. The wood used to make the Le Souk Olivique pieces comes from olive trees that can no longer produce fruit ensuring a sustainable wood harvesting practice. The Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture verifies non fruit bearing trees, and certifies them before they are cut down. Once an olive tree is cut down, young saplings are planted in its place. Le Souk Olivique and Le Souk Ceramique provide their artisans with healthcare, social security, fair wages, and safe working conditions.
